Axle warranty info

The world has changed since Ronin launched our 8.8 kits offering an unconditional lifetime warranty on shafts.  Several key differences:
All this being said, we still very much want to support our customers and make their project viable on an on-going basis.  Folks know that when we've found opportunities for improvement we just go do it.

The terms of our warranty support will now be as follows:
  1. If breakage occurs on a standard 8.8 kit, users are encouraged to jump up to a Grande axle setup.  A credit of the retail value of one shaft can be offered toward the purchase of the upgrade in lieu of warranty replacement, if desired (this offer is non transferrable).
  2. If you wish the replace broken axles with the identical version (standard or grande), shafts can be purchased at rate of 70% of retail for one shaft (up to 2 axles standard, and 2 axles grande), which then gets you the axle and fresh boots.  This helps us cover some of the cost since we're entirely eating the expense now.
    • Break two standard axles and you can then can purchase axles at retail pricing OR upgrade (as above)
    • Break two grande axles and similarly retail pricing applies to further axle purchases.  We do help folks diagnose their setup to see if improvements can be made
  3. All warranties will be asked to pay shipping costs
  4. Warranties are not transferrable, used axles have often had too hard a former life for the warranty to be realistic.
  5. Axle usage remains unrestricted.
We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we feel we really don't have a choice but to change the terms and hope that supporting users via discounted parts, lessons the headache of breakage.

In order to process a warranty claim, please send an email noting: details of your setup, what you were doing when it let go, and 3 pictures for evidence: 1) an overview shot, 2) a close up of the fracture surfaces, 3) a picture including both broken parts and something showing a current date for reference (stamped letter, receipt, newspaper, magazine etc).  The date doesn't need to be exact, just proof that the pictures are current. We do not need a return of broken parts.

Sincerely,
Joel and Mike
